When it comes to mycological predilections (which in simple English means how you feel about mushrooms), Western civilization can be divided into two groups – those who love mushrooms, the mycophiles, and those who fear them, the mycophobes. The U.S. is among the countries that has a history of not only fearing, but actually demonizing wild mushrooms. In recent times, as mushroom growing has become more popular, some of these old attitudes have changed.
